Still on retreat, hedgehog like, in North Wales.
Thanks to a new medication that I was allergic to, I got to Loggerheads to take some photographs with my iPhone.
Adrenal gland still sulking as is the rest of the Fibro body, so the photos are as near as I'll get for some time. Fortunately I took lots of photos...and some video too.
Hurrah for smartphones.

Week 6/52 - Signs #iPhoneography

Although I've managed to leave the house twice this past week (!) I didn't actually have enough spoons to take any photographs. So a sign needed to be found in the house.

week 4/52 'Up' - #art #MobileDigitalArt

week 4 of project 52. the title is 'up'. as usual i am a little limited by my health so it's another indoor shot. this time i'm posting a different image here than on google+ because poor little 'rule of thirds' got no attention last week. i suspect it veered too far away from what photogrpahers consider to be photography. here it is...

taken with the iOS5 camera app, then processed with

'camera+', 'segmentix', 'filterstorm', 'scratchcam'. 

I use 'strip designer' for the framing of multiple images and 'iWatermark' to watermark.

Google Plus project 52 - Week 2 - Summer/Winter #iPhoneography

The Creative process - Abstract art #iPhoneArt

I keep aiming for a Sunday post and failing...but my life seems to be ruled right now by my digestive system and my Fibro brain and I suspect that the two aren't mutaully exclusive.

Previously I've focused on iPhone photos and I still have a LOT of images from my day down at the Dock that are waiting to be played with. Yesterday though was a yucky day and my muse tends to leave me alone when my body and brain have me at their mercy. Just before bed I started to play with Flow Paper.

This is a lovely app, @missypoem  (see her Posterous here.) has been doing some lovely sketches with it and a few iPA peeps do great things with it too.

'The Road to Nowhere.'

It started with me trying to achieve a smoky effect with Flowpaper. Then I used a few Scratchcam filters, Scratchcam can take a while, not because it's slow but because the filters are so random, though you can save your favourites. Then I started playing with some art effect apps - 

Artista Oil - I love this app and the variety you can achieve with it, but it didn't like my Flowpaper sketch this time so...on to;

Auto Painter - I tried both versions and this DOES take a while, but it's interesting to watch the process. Not happy with any of the results so;

Shock My Pic - I can't link to the iTunes store for this because iTunes search has decided they don't have it...I LOVE this app. SImple but effective and very easy to use. I got a few images that I like with this, for blending with, I tend to use;

HDR fix - Because it's quick and I like the slider to choose the degree of blending of one to the other. There's probably another app that does this and more, but at the moment necessity has made me a creature of habit. Plus when I tried to update apps on my phone last night, it said there wasn't enough room! *Gasp* Please hurry iPhone 5...

Next came filters in Photo Studio and more blending of the results with HDR fix. Then finally, another of my favourites;

Camera+ : Which is ON SALE at the moment, so snap it up if you haven't already got it. In this I used the 'Back light' filter and the framing option. Then I used my preferred Watermarking app;

iWatermark - (sheesh Apple, your 'search' tool sucks) Though the eagle eyed amongst you will know that I usually forget to use it...

The first black and white image is the original Flowpaper drawing.

Hope this made a change from the usual Liverpool Tourism advert ;)

Re-learning - digital montage with apps

One of the artists at iPA is astonishingly good at creating the most wonderful montages on his phone. Intimidatingly good actually...it's a whole new way of working and I've struggled with it because I've been trying to approach it using old skills. Skills from the real world and my folders of collected images...I'm still struggling greatly with it but at least I've started to play and achieve some almost pleasing results...so here are the first to see the light of day. Feedback (if not too harsh) is as always appreciated ;)

Into the fire - red 6 #art

I've returned, after a long gap to my 'Into the fire' (one day it may be a) series.
The background for this image was created so long ago I have no idea how I made it. I loaded it into Art Rage and drew the figure, then flooded it with colour and tweaked the opacity.
Then Scratchcam followed by Photo FX ultra to add texture and light. Somewhere along the way I percolated the image and blended them together with HDR fix. Finally a few Weather FX and a crop.

It's been a long day and this has calmed and relaxed me greatly. Thank goodness for art's many therapeutic qualities...

Doing a lot of napping and sleeping and resting :sigh: and hoping...yes, hoping. Though it is hard to stay positive when your world shrinks...and hard not to want to hide away. Whether this is conveyed in these two images I have no idea...the viewer decides...is it the viewer who has the power in the relationship or the artist? I guess I know the answer to that...I just need to work at making it true.
